What is DWDM (Dense Wave Division Multiplexing)?
DWDM (Dense Wave Division Multiplexing)
Combines up to 64 wavelengths onto a single fiber using a standard 100GHz or 200GHz spacing between the wavelengths, arranged in several bands. Transponders are complex and expensive because the high density wavelengths are close together and can reach longer distances than CWDM
