The Verimatrix Content Authority System provides encryption and deploys a Public Key Infrastructure in order to authenticate each system and device within a media delivery network
Each system and devices is securely issued an X.509 digital certificate that is used to determine if the device is "known" to the other components of the network. If a hacker attempts to introduce un-authorized equipment (such as a STB or server), such an attempt will result in the hacker being identified (with no ability for the hacker to capture a movie.)
